While most may know singer Olivia (@1andonlyOlivia) for being the First Lady of G-Unit whose album never saw light of day, I know Olivia as the First Lady of J Records. Olivia was the first artist to sign to Clive Davis’ J Records. Her lead single “Bizounce” for self-titled debut album was certified gold, in 2000.
In 2004, Olivia emerged as the First Lady of G-Unit Records. Although G-Unit was at the height of its reign, day 1 fans of Olivia, such as myself, were not impressed with her being the “hook queen” on the label. Olivia’s debut album was more of “hood R&B” sound with female anthems, cues “Silly Bitch In Love”, and that was not what we were seeing with G-Unit.
Now Olivia is back with a new reality T.V show (Love and Hip Hop) and a new single entitled “December”. The song may end up being the Side-Line Whore anthem, but she is definitely sanging.
